This song is about my concern for the well being of a bum who Carmen and Brandon had ran into one night drinking downtown. They had audio recorded the jokes he told to them while sitting on this white couch, which I had listened to multiple times and pondered heavily over.
There is a bit of reflection on the self; I guess in a way I'm comparing my mannerisms to that of this dude who leads a mysterious and kind of sad day-to-day life to decide what really differentiates us as people once you look past socio-economic status and all that razamataz.
Featured in the lyrics is the punch line to one of the jokes he told in the recording, "we don't still serve beers to belligerent bears in this bar".
(Also, we sampled his voice in Cruelty Cinema, where he claims to offer anybody who can make his jokes famous, bread).
We later decided we would name this fella Spinzees, the white couch clown.

lyrics
Into depth at times
I don’t always speak my mind
But when I do I show no signs
Of who I am
It may seems strange to you
But when you look from my point of view
I’m in a sandbox filled with smoke
And a deceiving dew
I hope that all is well,
I hope you make it out alive
I hope you make it out in time
I hope you make it out in time
In my own world at times
I never read between the lines
Cause if I step one foot inside I’d never leave
The couch is in the yard
There’s bones and eggshells on the tar
When wisdom said
“We don’t still serve beers to belligerent bears in this bar”
I hope that all is well,
I hope you make it out alive
I hope you make it out in time
I hope you make it out in time
I hope that all is well
I hope you’re doing alright
I’m hoping everything is fine
I can’t get you off my mind
